Teacher Training Course - 200 hours

Whether your desire is for a deeper understanding of Yoga to enhance your personal practice, or to become a teacher and share your knowledge with others, this 200 hour course will enrich your practice and self awareness providing you with the tools for further growth.
The course will be grounded in Classic yoga postures (asanas), pranayama, meditation and philosophy, offering a profound understanding of the Science of Yoga.
An overview of other yoga styles will also be given including Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin.
Modules
Philosophy
Jnana and Karma yoga - Bhakti and Raja Yoga - eight fold path Sankhya Philosophy - from duality to oneness. Understanding the reasons for purifying the subtle body and an introduction to Advaita Vedanta.
Overview of Patanjalis Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita.
The gunas - three bodies and 5 koshas.
Karma and reincarnation.
The classic chants - the deities and some of the great saints of Yoga.
Hatha Yoga
Evolution of your own practice, understanding the benefits of each posture to your body and your mind.
Analysis of each of the classic postures, their core alignment points and how to teach them, making adjustments.
Twelve basic postures, leading to advanced and gentle options.
Shat Kriyas.
Bandhas and Mudras.
Language to use in each posture, common postural problems, common ailments that drive people to yoga, modifications and safe practice.
Six classic pranayamas and breath awareness.
Meditation
Practicing various methods including mantra, japa, chakras, chanting and Yoga Nidra.
Anatomy and Physiology
Difference between yoga and keep fit.
The Body Systems: Cardiovascular - Respiratory - Digestive - Skeletal - Muscular.
Diet, nutrition and fasting.
The Future
Teaching skills, presentation and class planning.
Starting your own yoga business.
Ethical Practice.
Option to teach with Yoga Ananda.

The cost of the course is £2395
A £500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. There is a payment plan available for the rest of the course fee. (see below for details)
Home work, home study and attendance of yoga classes will be part of the course.
The book for the course will be Yoga: Your Home Practice Companion (Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center)
The course instructor will be Leon Deith, assisted by Natasha Jarrams and Yogi Raaj

It is recommended that in preparation for the course, you attend the following courses / workshops:

Payment Plan
There is a non-refundable £500 deposit to secure your place on the course.
After that, you have the option of paying a minimum of £211 per month until April 2026, when the remaining balance for the course as well as the retreat payment is due. The earlier the monthly payments begin, the more you can spread the cost!
